The Cherry Cake ('Kirschli Kuchen') baking mix from Dr. Oetker. The cherries embedded in the sponge cake batter are surrounded by chocolate flakes and shimmer under decorative sugar on the coffee table.

Preparation: This package contains: 375g baking mix for the dough 60g chocolate flakes You will also need: Springform pan (Ø 26cm), e.g., Dr. Oetker A little fat Just add: 1 jar sour cherries (drained weight 350g) 175g soft margarine or butter 3 eggs (size M) 1 Preparation: Grease the springform pan. Preheat oven. Conventional heat: about 170°C, fan oven: about 150°C. Drain the sour cherries well in a sieve. 2 Prepare the dough: Pour the baking mix for the dough into a mixing bowl. Add the margarine or butter and eggs. Beat with a mixer (with beaters) on high for 3 minutes until a smooth dough forms. Then add the chocolate flakes and stir briefly. Pour the dough into the pan and smooth it down. Distribute the sour cherries on top, leaving about 1cm free around the edges. 3 Baking: Place the pan on the oven rack. Position: lower third. Baking time: approximately 55 minutes. Remove the springform pan rim and cake from the base, but let it cool completely on a wire rack with the springform pan base on. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.
